Scarlett + Dino: A First Landing Park Engagement Session

A First Landing Park Engagement Session Scarlett and Dino 2015 Scarlett & Dino are getting married! Back in November, I was invited to document my first Homecoming. It was cold like no other day, it was crowded and it was super early! I watched Scarlett wait for her love Dino under those conditions. She didn’t care, her excitement was so contagious, I didn’t care either. Then, a couple of months later I received THE email. Yes, Dino had proposed and they wanted me to document their celebration. Of course, I said Yes! Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session at First Landing Park. This time around there…

Kim + Murphy: A Cedar Point Country Club Wedding

2015 Kim & Murphy’s party was full of family, friends, and kids! The kids loved every single moment of it. They danced the night away and enjoyed cake and delicious food. I loved spending time with them and seeing them finally getting the wedding celebration they’ve dreamed of. The storm was right there behind us during the couple’s portraits but we still rocked it! Enjoy some of my favorites of the day. Mary + Christopher: A Suffolk Cultural Arts Wedding

2015 Mary & Christopher are a great couple. They goof around and laugh like no other. I’d clone them if I could! They gave me so much time for portraits that I couldn’t afford not to take advantage of it. Their wedding day was rainy and with a tornado watch in effect. Still, they went out and rocked their portraits by the beautiful Suffolk Cultural Arts fountain. Now, there are some photographers who say how uninspiring photographing by a fountain can be. My response? It’s not if you can make it like golden lava and have awesome clients to pair it with. Enjoy some of my favorites of the day.…

Kayla + Julian: A Red Wing Park + Traditions at Honey Bee Golf Club Wedding

2015 Kayla & Julian are just too perfect for each other, from the way they talk to each other to the way they simply do not. I was very fortunate in meeting their great family and friends. They are a great bunch! With a very touching ceremony at the Red Wing Park, they said their “I do” while having a blast of a party at the beautiful Honey Bee Golf Club. My first time there and it is a great place to have a wedding celebration. With Kayla & Julian I knew I wanted to try something, as they are artistic and super easy going. Check out my last two…

Christina + Bryan: A Cypress Point Country Club Wedding

2015 There were some sprinkles of rain, there was a smoke machine while they were having their first dance, there was selfies-galore, but most of all there was love. Christina & Bryan’s wedding at the Cypress Point Club was perfect, surrounded by their family and friends as they celebrated their union. They are fun, they are easy-going and pretty much a great couple to be around. Congratulations Christina & Bryan! Lauren + Forrest: Little Island in Sandbridge + The Attic at Waterman’s Wedding

2015 Lauren & Forrest were probably the most chilled couple this year. As I arrived at the bridesmaids’ room, all I found was a group having fun, eating snacks (VERY important during the wedding day so take note!) and just enjoying the moment. The boys were equally excited and chilled. The weather could have not been any better as they said their “I Do” at Little Island in Sandbridge with a party at the beautiful Attic at Waterman’s in Virginia Beach. Enjoy some of my favorites of the day. 2015 Perfect weather on a Sunday as Tiffany & Tony said their “I do” in Virginia Beach. Lindley + Jacques: A Fort Monroe Engagement

2015 You may be like, “wait,  I know this couple!”. And yes,  yes you do. Lindley & Jacques had an overcast, rainy Downtown Norfolk Engagement session last November. We thought it would be fun, and we were right, to have another engagement session before their wedding celebration in August. The sun was in our favor! Here are some of my favorites.

Kathy + Andrew: An Oceanfront Beach Wedding + Signature at the West Neck

2015 Kathy & Andrew got married on a beautiful day! The Oceanfront was perfect without too many people and the golden sun. After the ceremony on the beach, Kathy wanted to surprise Andrew, so we walked (yes, we did) towards the closest 7 11 for some Slurpees. Nothing says go wild and have fun like walking oceanfront in yellow heels. She wore them, not me. We then went to the party at one of my favorite venues, The Signature at West Neck. The sun & day could have not been more perfect. Ceremony: Beach Front of Sheraton Venue: The Signature at West Neck Dress: Allure bridal by Global Bridal Gallery …

Kayla + Julian: A Downtown Norfolk Session

2015 These two are a ball of awesomeness. Between being silly, romantic, jokers, down to earth, they are truly great together. We started our session at Padoga, followed by Freemason’s great roads and back to see the last light by Padoga. I had a great time with them and you’ll get to see them again next month as we go party at their wedding celebration.

Kelly + David: A Mariott at City Center in Newport News Wedding

2015 What a rainy day we got! However, Kelly & David had a perfect wedding on a rainy day. With a church ceremony at Yorkminster Presbyterian Church and a reception at the Mariott at City Center, we were indoors most of the time so that worked out great. I was loving Kelly’s dress. She called it “simple” while I called it wow. The neckline and back complimented her runner’s body amazingly. With bridesmaids and groomsmen equally beautiful she said “I do” to her runner’s soul mate David, who looked quite handsome himself. Congratulations Kelly & David! May you enjoy as many blessings in your lives as your parents have in their marriage.…

Narketta + Ricky: Olde Towne Portsmouth Engagement Session

2014 Narketta and Ricky met online and are quite perfect for each other. They enjoy similar things and are very down to earth. Besides enjoying some coffee and romantic sunset viewing together, they also love to laugh (noticed?) and joke around. It was interesting trying to get Narketta serious on any of these pictures but when you are in love, best to let the heart follow. They decided to do their Engagement session at Olde Towne Portsmouth for its beautiful streets and urban feel. A place that truly matches them. We met on a cold morning. Love Narketta’s coat. I am completely honored that Narketta loves her images so much,…

Lindley + Jacques: Downtown Norfolk Engagement

2014 I love seeing Lindley and Jacques smile. I do, I do! They are super fun and well, “hello gorgeous legs”! (Sorry Jacques, you were wearing jeans so  I can’t comment on that). This was a very cloudy day. No sun to be found anywhere, yet the colors were so rich, beautiful and romantic.  The rain was following us and I was so in the moment that didn’t realize it rained in the last couple of images until I had shot the last one. Then it poured! Sadly I was already in my car but I secretly wished I would have stayed a little longer. Lindley and Jacques got wet…

Norfolk Homecoming | Scarlett & Dino

2014 Ok, I like cold but this was outrageous! There were donuts, there was coffee but still not enough! Documenting my first homecoming was a delight though.  As I witness something I had witnessed as a Navy Wife many times over, it felt new. This time it was different, I was behind the lens and going through the roller coaster of emotions. You are excited, nervous, cold or tired. All of that is gone when you spot your love on the boat (or ship depending on who you are asking!). Dino had forgotten I was there to document it as he sneaked behind everybody to surprise Scarlett. I was able…
