A beautiful Virginia Beach Elopement has been in the works for some time now and I couldn’t have been more honored to have witnessed it.
Sheila and Chandler have built a wonderful family. They have three children, including a newborn, who are precious and as gorgeous as their parents. As high school sweethearts, they understand each other and maintain a connection without words. I was so impressed by their silent communication, above all. Their ceremony was quiet and simple, focused mostly on the home they have built and the future that will hold. Their closest family and friends came to witness this long-awaited moment with support and love.
They decided to have an intimate wedding at the Kemps Landing Park in Virginia Beach. I have passed in front of that dome a hundred times and always wanted to shoot there. I thought about what I’d love to capture and how I’d light it. For instance, since the park is so close to the street, I was quite aware of its challenges but ready for them. I can say, I was pretty happy with the outcome!
I do a lot of big weddings. Weddings with hundreds of guests that come to drink, party and celebrate. Unfortunately, I don’t book that many small elopements but this past year has been the year I was able to photograph three and I am in love with them. The warmth and moments of a small ceremony are lovely to watch and document. Moreover, small weddings bring you aware of so many small details and how no matter how big your wedding is, what matters is who you are marrying to.
With that said, if you know someone having a little charming ceremony celebration, please share their info with me, I’d love to be considered for their Virginia Beach Elopement.
Enjoy some of my favorites from their intimate and little beautiful park ceremony.
